Position Summary

The Senior IT Program Manager, in the Office of the CIO, serves as a strategic leader and trusted partner, responsible for launching and driving a new, high‑impact technology program aligned to established delivery frameworks. This role leads cross‑functional initiatives across technology and business teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals while delivering measurable outcomes.

The program is newly formed, offering a unique opportunity to shape its direction, governance, and execution from the outset; while operating within a mature, well‑defined delivery and governance environment. Success in this role requires strong program management discipline, the ability to operate effectively in evolving contexts, and exceptional stakeholder leadership to drive clarity, momentum, and results across the enterprise.

This is an on-site position based in Seattle, WA. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Management

  • Define and manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources using standardized methodologies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage scope changes, and drive effective issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including project plans, requirements, success criteria, reports, and presentations.
  • Coordinate with other project teams to identify dependencies, remove roadblocks, and ensure program alignment.

Intake Management

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for new technology requests.
  • Facilitate impact assessments (IA) in partnership with Technology and Finance teams.
  • Track and communicate intake progress, decisions, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Partner & Internal Communication

  • Act as liaison between internal teams and Powered by Trupanion partners to gather requirements and share roadmap updates.
  • Provide transparent updates on sequencing, milestones, and delivery timelines.

Reporting & Visibility

  • Deliver regular reporting on program intake, roadmap status, and delivery progress.
  • Proactively surface risks, blockers, and cross-project dependencies to project and product leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, MIS, or related field.
  • 5+ years of IT project/program management experience using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • 5+ years managing large-scale ERP transformation programs.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple initiatives with competing priorities in a calm, structured manner.
  • Strong organizational and relationship-building skills across technical and business teams.
  • Proficiency with JIRA and formal project management methodologies.
  • PMI certification (PMP or equivalent) required.

Compensation:

  • The pay range for this position is $130,000 - 150,000, on a full-time schedule.
  • Along with base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
  • We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
