Senior IT Operations Specialist

AI overview

Act as the primary technical architect and lead in IT operations, focusing on system architecture, strategic improvements, and integration of core systems.

A career at Booksy means you’re part of a global team focused on helping people around the world feel great about themselves, every day. From empowering entrepreneurs to build successful businesses, to supporting their customers arrange 'me time' moments, we’re in the business of helping people thrive and feel fantastic.

Working in an ever-changing, scale-up where things are messy, and resources are limited isn't for everyone. If you thrive in a stable environment with big budgets, clear processes and structures then, if being honest, we’re probably not for you. However, if you love bringing order to chaos, inventively solving problems, and prioritizing your own path within ambiguity, then you're likely to love it here.

Role Overview

As a Senior IT Operations Specialist, you will act as the primary technical architect and lead within the IT Operations domain. Your role shifts beyond day-to-day support to focus on analyzing the broader IT landscape, defining high-level system architecture, and proposing strategic improvements to ensure a scalable, secure, and integrated ecosystem. You will serve as the visionary for how our systems (IAM, UEM, ITSM) interact while remaining the final technical escalation point for the team.

Role Responsibilities

IT Landscape Architecture & Strategic Improvement

  • Architectural Analysis: Continuously analyze the existing IT landscape (SaaS stack, infrastructure, and integrations) to identify bottlenecks, security gaps, and technical debt.
  • High-Level Design: Propose and design high-level architectural changes to improve system scalability, reliability, and interoperability across the organization.
  • Solution Scouting: Research and propose new technological solutions and platforms that align with business goals and drive digital transformation.
  • Security & Compliance Architecture: Work with the Security team to bake security baselines and compliance standards (e.g., CIS benchmarks) directly into the system architecture.

System Integration & Platform Ownership

  • Advanced Integration Design: Define the strategy for how core systems (Okta, Workspace One, JSM) integrate. Own the "Big Picture" of the HRIS-IDP-UEM data flow.
  • IAM Strategy: Architect global identity and access models (e.g., RBAC, Passwordless initiatives) and resolve complex architectural conflicts in authentication flows (SAML/OIDC).
  • UEM Roadmap: Define the technical roadmap for the global device fleet, ensuring automated provisioning pipelines minimize manual touchpoints.
  • Automation Leadership: Architect multi-system data pipelines and sets coding/logic standards for automations built in low-code platforms (Make/n8n) or scripts.

Technical Leadership & Final Escalation

  • Strategic Mentorship: Shape the technical culture of the team by mentoring Regular and Associate Specialists on engineering best practices, peer reviews, and architectural thinking.
  • Final Technical Escalation: Serve as the ultimate authority for the most critical technical incidents that require deep-dive system analysis or architectural adjustments.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Use expert-level analysis of ITSM and system metrics to justify architectural changes and report on the "health of the landscape" to leadership.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with an architectural mindset and deep technical expertise in the following areas:

  • Systems Architecture: Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical configurations and design scalable IT ecosystems.
  • Expert IAM & Integration: Deep knowledge of Okta, GWS. Expertise in debugging intricate authentication flows and designing automated Lifecycle Management (LCM).
  • Advanced UEM Administration: Expertise in Workspace One (or similar), including scripting advanced installations, sensors, and managing OS-level patch management cycles.
  • Enterprise Automation: Proficiency in architecting complex workflows using Make/n8n or scripting (PowerShell/Python), with a focus on error handling and data integrity.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on a systemic level, identifying patterns rather than just symptoms.
  • Digital Workplace Tools: Expert-level knowledge of Atlassian suite (JSM, Jira, Confluence), Slack, and Miro from a backend/architectural perspective.
  • Certifications: Professional-level certifications (e.g., Okta Certified ProfessionalVMware VCP-Digital Workspace, or Google Professional Workspace Administrator) are highly desirable.
