Vast is looking for a Senior Information Systems Support Specialist, reporting to the Manager, Technology Operations, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
You will be providing day-to-day technical support to Vast’s internal employees and making sure systems run smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for users experiencing technical issues, providing timely and efficient solutions to their problems. Your expertise in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and exceptional customer service will be key to your success in this role.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Operations
- Escalation point of contact for IS Support specialists.
- Intermediary between IS support team and TPMs.
- Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for enterprise applications (ERP, MES, PLM).
- 60% of time spent providing L1/L2 support for all VAST Enterprise Systems, 40% of time assisting with project related work.
- Strong understanding of the enterprise system landscape and functional knowledge of processes.
- Management of IAM Groups and provisioning.
- Proficient in provisioning ticketing projects.
Leadership & Project Execution
- Lead small-to-medium IT projects (JIRA, license management, automation).
- Develop project plans, track milestones, and execute with minimal oversight.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior IT technicians.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Identify recurring issues and implement scalable solutions.
- Assist in developing IT standards, processes, and operational playbooks.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and support workflows.
- Experience with working with no code, low code solutions.
- Develop scripts and automation solutions (e.g., JQL, PowerShell, Bash, Python, workflows).
- Improve onboarding/offboarding efficiency through automation.
- Enhance reporting and metrics from ITSM platforms.
- Strong collaboration skills with multiple departments and stakeholders).
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT or Information Systems support.
- Proven experience with ITSM tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve difficult technical issues with limited information.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing/aerospace environment.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced startup environment or enterprise level environment.
- Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and standards regarding IT and data.
- Experience supporting 1000+ end users.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong troubleshooting skills and application support skills.
- Strong attention to detail and exhibits proactivity/can do attitude.
Pay Range:
- Senior Information Support Specialist: $90,000 - $128,000
