Senior Infrastructure Engineer

The Opportunity

This is a critical and exciting time at Enigma. Our product is gaining adoption quickly and even faster than we anticipated. This creates a need to expand the capabilities of our infrastructure to scale our product. We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will play a central role in architecting, building and managing the infrastructure at the core of our product and systems.

The Role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will build capabilities that empower engineering and data science teams to create and manage the compute resources on which our critical systems are built. Your impact will be measured by the ability of engineering teams to efficiently deploy and manage secure, scalable, and cost-effective systems.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Thrives on a collaborative, supportive, cross-functional team of software engineers, product managers, and data scientists
• Excels in multiple aspects of engineering, including design decisions, hands-on implementation, and technical mentorship
• Engineers best-in-class tooling to empower engineering teams to deploy and manage scalable, cost-effective, and secure infrastructure (we use AWS and manage it with Terraform)
• Provides a reliable, easy-to-use suite of developer tools for version control, artifact deployment, and CI/CD (we use GitLab and Docker)
• Had excellent system debugging skills to troubleshoot system issues (everything is Linux)
• Pride themselves on writing highly readable, thoroughly tested software (we use Python)

• Technical Challenge: You will use a broad range of technologies to build our infrastructure capabilities for teams operating with a DevOps mindset
• Impact: The solutions you design and build will empower dozens of software engineers and data scientists and you will determine the speed at which we can scale to take on new customers

Our Ideal Candidate

• Has 6+ years of engineering infrastructure experience with 3+ years of software engineering
• Enjoys collaborating with cross-functional partners (product managers, data scientists, other engineers) to set clear expectations and solve common problems
• A strong track record of building capabilities to empower software engineers and data scientists
• Has experience with the following: AWS, Docker, Linux, macOS, Python, Terraform

Bonus Points If You

• Worked extensively on infrastructure, high-volume data processing systems
• Experience in architecting and building data systems at scale

Salary Range: $160,000-$210,000

A note on salary ranges: we pride ourselves on paying competitively for our size and industry. Salary is one piece of a total Enigma compensation package that includes additional benefits and opportunities. All of our compensation packages include equity because we believe 100% of Enigma employees should have the option to purchase ownership in the company and benefit from the value we’re creating together.
