What is Senior Implementation Lead – Data Lake & Segmentation?
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Implementation Lead to design, deploy, and manage an enterprise-scale Data Lake architecture, with strong ownership of data segmentation, security zones, and governance. The role involves leading end-to-end implementation—from solution design to production rollout and managed operations—while coordinating with architecture, data engineering, security, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Data Lake Implementation & Architecture
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of the enterprise Data Lake architecture, including ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption layers
- Implement multi-zone data lake design (e.g., landing/raw, curated, trusted, consumption zones) as defined in the architecture
- Ensure scalability, high availability, and performance of the Data Lake platform
- Translate high-level architecture into Low-Level Designs (LLDs) and deployment plans
Data Segmentation & Security
- Design and implement data segmentation strategies based on:
- Business domains
- Sensitivity levels (PII, confidential, public data)
- Regulatory and compliance requirements
- Enforce logical and physical data separation using:
- Access control policies
- Network segmentation
- Encryption and key management
- Integrate identity and access management (IAM) and role-based access control (RBAC) across data lake layers
Integration & Data Pipelines
- Lead deployment/development of batch and streaming data ingestion pipelines
- Integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources
- Ensure reliable data movement across segmented zones with proper controls
Operations & Managed Services
- Own post-implementation operations, including monitoring, incident management, and performance tuning
- Define SLA/SLOs, operational runbooks, and escalation procedures
- Lead L2/L3 support for Data Lake platform issues
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization initiatives
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the technical lead for Data Lake delivery engagements
- Coordinate with enterprise architects, security teams, and business stakeholders
- Mentor data engineers and implementation teams
- Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and architectural guidance

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be an Senior Implementation Lead – Data Lake & Segmentation?
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data platform or large-scale system implementation
- Strong hands-on experience with Data Lake architectures
- Proven expertise in:
- Data lake zoning and segmentation
- Data security and access controls
- Metadata, lineage, and governance tools
- Experience with distributed storage and compute platforms
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and orchestration
Architecture & Design
- Experience producing HLDs and LLDs for enterprise data platforms
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management
- Ability to align technical design with business and compliance needs
Leadership & Delivery
- Experience leading large implementation teams
- Strong stakeholder communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with regulated or large enterprise environments
- Background in security-by-design data platforms
- Relevant certifications in data platforms (preferred but not mandatory)
- Hadoop, Spark,Kafka handson experience for deployment
