Your Role
The Sr. HR Generalist is responsible for assisting in both employee relations and benefits administration at Aperia. Reporting to the Head of People (HOP), the HR manager ensures compliance with policies and regulations, promotes a positive work environment and supports employee well‑being through effective benefits delivery. This role is full-time onsite at our HQ office in Hayward, CA.
Your Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for on-site employees with questions or concerns by listening, documenting issues and providing guidance aligned with company policies and employment law to ensure timely support, build trust and resolve matters efficiently.
- Assist with internal investigations into complaints or reported misconduct by following standardized investigation protocols, interviewing involved parties, collecting evidence and maintaining confidentiality to reach impartial conclusions that protect employees and the organization.
- Update and maintain employee data including training by working with department managers, employees and HR to ensure accuracy and training completion.
- Assist with day‑to‑day benefits operations for health, retirement and wellness plans by processing enrollments, changes and terminations via HRIS data entry, and ensuring accurate payroll deduction input to deliver correct coverage to employees.
- Assist with annual open‑enrollment activities by preparing materials, scheduling Q&A sessions and guide employees through the online enrollment process to ensure employees understand their benefits and make informed choices.
- Monitor labor and benefits laws (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA) and company policies, and update procedures, ensure required notices are issued and posted, and maintain documentation to minimize legal risks and uphold ethical standards.
- Educate employees on company policies, benefits offerings and procedures by creating clear communications, hosting training sessions and answering individual questions to promote understanding and adherence to policies while enhancing employee satisfaction.
- Work with finance to ensure correct payroll deductions, share data and coordinate policy changes to ensure HR practices support business objectives and maintain financial and legal integrity.
- Partner with our Quality department and oversee committee by handling walkthroughs, training and implementation of safety measures and policies in compliance with ISO requirements.
- Support performance management processes, annual compensation adjustments, and contract-to-employee conversions by coordinating data collection, maintaining accurate documentation, and partnering with People Operations, Finance, and managers to ensure fair, compliant, and timely execution.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or equivalent experience; HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM‑CP) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in human resources, with demonstrated expertise in employee relations and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, investigation protocols and benefits regulations.
- Excellent communication, listening and conflict‑resolution skills with the ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially.
- Experience using HRIS, performance and case‑management tools; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Fluency or Bilingual in Spanish is required.
Pay Range: $90,000 - $105,000
*Base salary only. Salary is dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience and location.
