What You Will Be Doing

In this highly visible role, you will be the factory expert in manufacturing processes, yields, and overall factory readiness for engineering NPI builds and mass production. You will drive day-to-day operations with our Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and ensure delivery of top-quality products through close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will be the primary representative of technical operations to the broader ChargePoint team, ensuring the factory is set up for success and scalability. You will be responsible for collaborating with engineering, defining build schedules, and communicating with cross-functional teams/leadership on the status of factory builds.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Manufacturing & Process Development:
    • Work with internal cross-functional teams to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability, cost, supply chain flexibility, and efficiency (DFx).
    • Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) builds (pre-proto through PVT) for PCBA and FATP lines.
    • Develop assembly tooling/automation equipment with manufacturing partners and optimize capacity lines.
    • Monitor assembly traceability and manufacturing data requirements at supplier & CM sites.
  • Performance Monitoring & Improvement:
    • Monitor performance (yield, throughput) of sustaining lines globally.
    • Ensure proper implementation of engineering changes at the factory.
    • Drive production process improvements to achieve quality, cost, and yield goals.
    • Plan production capacity with sufficient capex and factory layout to meet production demand volumes
    • Troubleshoot hardware test, reliability, or quality issues during engineering or production builds

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in fast-paced PCBA/FATP product design and commercialization companies.
  • Experience in DFx methodologies and in-depth knowledge of quality methodologies (statistical analysis, DOEFMEA).
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems effectively.
  • Experience with Continuous Process ImprovementKanban, and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Program management experience with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate succinctly and effectively across functions, working with limited supervision to drive issues to closure.
  • Excellent debugging skills and ability to solve problems under pressure.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% internationally and domestically.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Arena PLM system.
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
  • Experience with Tool Design/NX/similar CAD software

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $150,000 to $180,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits, or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and specific work location.
