Senior Graphic Designer

Versant News is looking for a seasoned designer to become part of the Brand Design Team.  As a member of the team, you will develop a comprehension of—and fluency in—both the CNBC and MSNOW brand systems, executing creative work that consistently meets established brand standards.

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing across a wide range of platforms and touchpoints, including on-air, digital, social, DTC products, brand verticals, and live events.

You will collaborate closely across the broader organization, as well as with marketing managers, writers, producers, and animators, to deliver cohesive, high-quality design solutions that adhere to, and elevate brand guidelines.

You will manage multi-part projects from concept through execution, partnering with design leads and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful delivery.

  • A refined design aesthetic and deep understanding of color, typography, layout and composition.  

  • Strong ideation, concept development, and production design skills - translating strategy and editorial content into compelling visual storytelling.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions.

  • A thoughtful brand steward who respects standards while actively seeking opportunities to elevate, innovate, and push creative forward.

  • Ability to take direction and feedback from Art Directors, Creative Directors, and Marketing leads, while contributing informed creative perspectives.

  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional, agile team environment and partnering with peers to develop strong, insight-driven solutions.

  • Skilled at building strong relationships with marketers and stakeholders to understand objectives, context, and audience needs.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust priorities in a fast-moving environment.

  • An innovation-minded problem solver who looks for better ways of working, collaborating, and creating efficiencies.

  • Stays current with design, media, and cultural trends.

  • Self-starter who takes ownership of their work, with a strong sense of initiative and commitment to consistently delivering high-quality work.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A portfolio demonstrating both conceptual range and systematic design craft—campaign thinking, scalable design systems, and fully realized executions across platforms.

  • 6+ years of design and art direction within a creative agency or in-house studio; experience in a media or broadcast environment preferred.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the Englewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of three days per week.
