We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inbound Logistics Manager to oversee all inbound logistics operations supporting our manufacturing and service facilities. This individual will be the go-to expert for transportation-related issues, responsible for managing inbound freight budgets, ensuring shipment visibility, and maintaining accurate tracking of materials from supplier to production line.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in transportation management and logistics planning, strong SAP Transportation Management (TM) expertise, and a solid understanding of inventory planning to support cross-functional operations. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can balance cost, service, and operational performance.
In this role, you will:
Oversee all inbound transportation operations to ensure on-time delivery of materials to support production schedules and prevent downtime.
Serve as the subject matter expert for transportation processes, systems, and performance within the supply chain organization.
Manage and optimize inbound freight budgets, including cost forecasting, carrier performance, and spend analysis.
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of SAP Transportation Management (TM) to ensure accurate shipment visibility, carrier communication, and freight settlement.
Develop and maintain KPIs to measure transportation performance, cost efficiency, and supplier compliance.
Partner closely with the Inventory Planning team to align inbound logistics with material availability and production needs.
Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics partners to resolve delivery issues, transportation delays, and supplier performance concerns.
Ensure all inbound shipments are accurately tracked, documented, and reconciled in SAP to support real-time visibility and financial accuracy.
Identify opportunities to streamline logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency across the inbound network.
Provide leadership and guidance to logistics planners, fostering a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Travel Requirements: 25% may be required
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain planning within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
Transportation Management Systems experience
Strong understanding of inbound logistics processes and carrier management.
Demonstrated success in managing transportation budgets and improving cost efficiency.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience in automotive manufacturing or other complex production environments.
Background in inventory or materials planning.
Experience implementing or optimizing SAP TM processes.
Proficiency with SAP Transportation Management (TM) and integration with S/4HANA.
Lean or Six Sigma certification.
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
