This is a full-time, Osoyoos-based accounting role reporting to the Finance & Accounting Manager

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Finance & Accounting Manager, the Senior General Accountant is a trusted, experienced accounting professional responsible for day-to-day general accounting, reconciliations, and period-end support. This role is focused on accuracy, consistency, and operational excellence rather than people management or career-track progression.

This position is ideal for a seasoned accountant who values stability, predictable hours, and the opportunity to apply deep technical expertise in a hands-on role.

 

Position Overview

The successful candidate will bring extensive practical accounting experience, exceptional attention to detail, and advanced Excel capability. This is a senior individual-contributor role requiring sound judgment, independence, and the ability to work confidently with minimal oversight while collaborating effectively with the Finance team.

The role supports a busy finance function and requires comfort working within established processes, meeting regular deadlines, and collaborating with internal stakeholders across the organization.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior General Accountant will perform a broad range of accounting duties, including but not limited to:

  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable support
  • Invoicing and revenue tracking
  • Preparation of month-end closing entries and working papers
  • GST / PST reporting and filings
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Supporting period-end and audit-related requests
  • Maintaining accurate, well-organized financial records
  • Providing ad-hoc accounting support as required

Requirements

Required

  • Formal accounting education
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Holder of a Valid Work Permit in Canada at time of application for this role
  • 10+  years of progressive experience in a general accounting or senior accounting role
  • Advanced Excel skills (mandatory) – this role requires high competency with formulas, reconciliations, and financial analysis
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and reconciliations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines

Nice to Have

  • CPA designation or partial CPA studies
  • Experience with QuickBooks and/ or NetSuite
  • Experience in industries such as mining, logistics, or operations-heavy environments

Benefits

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 year base salary (based on experience and level of formal Accounting education) and annual discretionary performance bonus.
