Join the Content Cartel team which builds high-performance content editor - the most complex and feature-rich part of Surfer. We’re not just building a text editor; we’re engineering the future of content optimization. Our tools help thousands of users rank higher on Google and LLMs by scoring articles and offering state-of-the-art optimization features.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in expanding and maintaining our core product, requiring a high degree of ownership and proactive thinking.

We’re a remote-first company, but if you ever crave some in-person energy, we’ve got a cozy office in Wrocław where the magic happens (and coffee never runs out ☕).

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Designing and implementing new features within the content editor and its surrounding tools (including AI integrations).

• Maintaining existing functionalities, fixing bugs, writing tests and ensuring high code quality.

• Building and maintaining critical integrations with external platforms like Google Docs, WordPress, Webflow, Contentful, and Shopify.

• Working in close collaboration with the Designer and Product Manager, but most importantly, proactively challenging the status quo and suggesting improvements across code, UI/UX and product features.

• Taking full ownership of the feature lifecycle.

Requirements

You may be a good fit for this role if you:

• Are a frontend expert with deep knowledge of TypeScript and React.

• Are comfortable understanding a complex codebase and its architecture.

• Are a self-starter who thrives without "being led by the hand" and actively seeks out what needs to be done next (avoiding scenarios where you are stuck without asking questions).

• Have a strong, detail-oriented eye for UI/UX details, and genuinely care about delivering a great experience.

• Can quickly adapt and excel in a dynamic environment where detailed, long-term roadmaps may be rarity—you embrace ambiguity as an opportunity.

• Champion clear, proactive communication and are open to receiving and giving feedback.

• A major plus:
  -Have prior experience with text editor frameworks (ideally TipTap/ProseMirror).
  -Are open to learn or have experience with backend technologies (ideally Elixir).
