We’re a distributed, high-trust team that prizes craftsmanship, empathy, and the sense of ownership.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead critical initiatives across our next-generation web experience. You’ll own complex, user-facing surfaces end‑to‑end in React and Next.js, shape our frontend architecture and performance posture, and raise the bar on accessibility, reliability, and developer experience. This role blends strategic architecture with hands-on delivery: you’ll prototype, productionize, and take to production in the same week.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead architecture for our Next.js app: work with other members of the team to establish patterns for app routing, data‑fetching strategies (RSC/SSR/ISR), caching, and error boundaries, all with resilience and observability in mind.
  • Ship delightful, accessible features: partner with design and product to deliver pixel‑perfect, inclusive UI that meets WCAG 2.1 AA (or better), including semantic markup, keyboard flows, and screen‑reader fidelity.
  • Scale our design system: evolve our component library and tokens; enforce type‑safe theming, responsive behavior, and accessibility props; drive a consistent and elegant look & feel.
  • Harden quality with tests & automation: advance our TDD culture; expand unit, component, and E2E coverage; integrate visual regression and accessibility checks into CI/CD.
  • uX + DevX champion: reduce time‑to‑first‑commit with better local tooling, eslint/TypeScript rigor, and useful generators; coach teammates through code reviews that teach and scale.
  • Collaborate across the stack: influence API contracts with backend, work with security and compliance to embed privacy-by-design, and coordinate with DevOps on progressive delivery and incident response.
  • Mentor and multiply: guide senior and mid‑level engineers, establish best practices, run architecture reviews, and help shape our frontend roadmap.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years building production web apps, with 5+ years deep in React and modern TypeScript.
  • Expert Next.js: SSR/SSG/ISR, App Router & RSC, edge runtimes/CDN strategies, data fetching, streaming, route‑level caching, and performance profiling.
  • Accessibility expertise: practical experience closing gaps against WCAG 2.1, including automated and manual testing (axe, Playwright+Cue, screen readers).
  • Testing discipline: strong TDD instincts; Jest/Vitest, RTL, Playwright/Cypress; CI feedback that’s fast and meaningful.
  • System design for the frontend: design systems, state management tradeoffs (server vs. client; React Query/Cache vs. Context/Redux/Zustand), and typed API boundaries (OpenAPI/GraphQL).
  • Performance engineering: Core Web Vitals, profiling, bundle analysis, code‑splitting, image pipelines, font loading strategies, and anti‑jank techniques.
  • Security & compliance mindset: familiarity with auth flows (OIDC/OAuth), secrets handling, and secure-by-default UI patterns (XSS/CSRF/Clickjacking mitigations).
  • Leadership & communication: ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives, write crisp design docs, and mentor engineers through ambiguity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with edge platforms (Vercel/Cloudflare), feature flags, and progressive delivery.
  • Familiarity with Node.js backends and BFF patterns.
  • Internationalization (i18n/l10n) at scale.
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS, especially with regulated or SOC2‑conscious customers.
  • Prior contributions to OSS in React/Next.js ecosystem.

How We Work

  • High trust, high leverage: you’ll own problems, not just tasks.
  • Design‑engineering partnership: engineers sit “at the table” from discovery through delivery.
  • Quality is everyone’s job: accessibility, tests, and performance are non‑negotiable.
  • Continuous improvement: we develop, review, gather feedback, and iterate.
