About the position

We are looking for an experienced Front End Developer to join our team. You will develop intuitive products and internal tools based on user, product and business requirements, in collaboration with your Team Leader, Back End Software team, Architect and Product Department.

Our products are used by shipping company engineers and captains to optimise the technical operations and navigation of their vessels based on our in-house developed AI and optimisation algorithms. You will need to gain a good understanding of the domain and our research output to design improvements that make our backend infrastructure scalable and cover our customers’ needs.

Main responsibilities:

• Deliver intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance usability and overall user experience.

• Develop and maintain React-based frontend applications with clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

• Integrate frontend components with backend services, including in-house AI and optimization algorithms for vessel technical operations and navigation.

• Optimize application performance to ensure fast load times, responsiveness, and smooth interactions.

• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to deliver end‑to‑end product features.

• Leverage modern development tools and AI‑assisted coding workflows to improve productivity and code quality.

• Work with modern build tools and development workflows to ensure efficient delivery and high-quality releases.

Requirements

Main requirements:

• BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Web Developer, preferably React.

• Strong proficiency in React.js and its core principles.

• Solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6+).

• Hands-on experience with Redux (React Redux, Redux Toolkit).

• Excellent knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.

• Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as SASS.

• Good understanding of CSS Flexbox and responsive design principles.

• Experience with Bootstrap v4+.

• Experience using Git for version control.

• Experience with build tools like Webpack or Gulp.

• Experience with Node.js and npm.

• Ability and willingness to use AI coding assistants to enhance productivity, code quality, and development speed.

Nice to have:

• Experience with backend technologies such as Java and/or Python.

• Knowledge of additional frontend frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, etc.).

• Familiarity with Scrum or other Agile methodologies.

• Understanding of UI/UX best practices beyond implementation.

• Exposure to AI‑driven or optimization‑based systems.
