We’re looking for seasoned and skilled technical leaders with a strong electrical engineering mindset to help architect the future of robotics through best in class, modern software engineering practices. In this role, you will operate at the boundary between hardware and software, working closely with electrical, controls, and higher-level software teams to ensure reliable, observable, and debuggable systems.
Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for real-time motor control, sensing, and system monitoring
Debug complex system-level issues where root cause may span software, firmware, hardware, or component behavior
Use hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and DMMs to diagnose timing, signaling, and electrical issues
Act as a technical bridge between hardware and software, collaborating closely with EEs, controls, motion planning, and systems engineers
Advise leadership on technical decisions and strategy
Mentor and advise other engineers as well as peers on technical and personal advancement
Drive technical decision making and implementation through hands-on and technically deep work
The Systems Group focuses on foundational technologies including motor and actuator control, embedded communications, system health monitoring/logging, and hardware bring-up.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $180,000 to $230,000, depending on experience. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
