About the role 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Controller to join our team in Copenhagen. The ideal candidate will provide strong team building skills, support continued process optimizations and drive operational improvements. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.

You will collaborate with a Finance team of 6 colleagues located across Copenhagen and Barcelona, contributing to key financial operations and projects. Together with the other teams in Enabling Areas, we support BASE in all matters relating to finance, IT, people & culture and general business support internationally.

As a Senior Financial Controller your responsibilities include:

• Lead the group financial controlling activities across all BASE Group entities, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including journal entries, invoicing, payroll, payments, P&L, and cash flow management.
• Drive the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with local GAAP and group policies.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and coordinate external audits across all BASE Group entities, including Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK.
• Manage and monitor corporate income tax (CIT) and VAT regulations across all BASE Group entities, including Danish VAT and cross-border VAT requirements within Europe.
• Act as the main point of contact for tax compliance and auditors regarding statutory filings, VAT, and corporate tax matters.
• Perform group financial controlling of the trial balances (TB) across all BASE Group entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Administer and monitor contracts, manage requests from government institutions, customers, and suppliers.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (management, enabling area functions).
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, cost control, and KPI compliance.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, maintain the internal quality management system for Finance.
• Provide financial insights and strategic support to senior management for decision-making and business planning.
