Position Overview We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team and take ownership of expense forecasting, cost analysis, and departmental financial partnerships. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will serve as the primary finance contact for department heads across the organization, driving visibility into spending trends and ensuring alignment between operational plans and financial outcomes. This is an ideal role for someone looking to deepen their FP&A expertise at a high-growth SaaS company owning the full expense planning cycle from monthly forecasting and variance analysis to annual budgeting and executive reporting. You will work closely with leadership across Client Success, Professional Services, Sales, Marketing, R&D, and G&A, leveraging your financial acumen and business partnership skills to influence decision-making across the organization. Responsibilities
  • Own the expense forecasting model and process: Lead the monthly expense forecasting cycle, maintaining and improving the supporting models. Integrate operational data from HR, procurement, and other sources to strengthen forecast accuracy. Proactively identify, analyze, and communicate cost trends and variances affecting the business.
  • Serve as financial business partner to department heads: Meet monthly with leaders across Client Success, Professional Services, Sales, Marketing, R&D, and G&A to review their financial results (Actual vs. Plan, Actual vs. Forecast). Collaborate on future spending plans and translate operational changes into updated forecasts.
  • Analyze and report on cost performance: Support preparation of monthly and quarterly expense analyses for the executive team, Board of Directors, and department heads. Own variance commentary, identify drivers of change, and ensure accuracy across all reported figures.
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting packages: Partner with the FP&A Manager to compile comprehensive reporting packages, contributing expense insights and analysis to the overall financial narrative.
  • Present expense performance at month-end close: Lead the monthly presentation to the Finance team as part of the close process, walking through actual expense results versus the rolling forecast. Clearly communicate variances, explain key drivers, and highlight areas requiring attention.
  • Co-administer Vena (CPM solution): Serve as functional co-administrator, alongside the FP&A Manager, ensuring data integrity with source systems (HRIS, ERP), managing user access, and maintaining report functionality. Identify opportunities to build new reports and analyses that drive business value. Partner with Operations and other teams to close gaps in KPI tracking with a focus on automation and scalability.
  • Support the annual budget process: Assist in developing the annual budget and three-year plan, coordinating with department heads to gather inputs, stress-test scenarios, and track progress against timelines.
  • Qualifications and Competencies
  • Experience: 1โ€“3 years in FP&A, corporate finance, or business analytics. Experience in SaaS, tech, or a high-growth environment is strongly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency with the ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot complex financial models. Experience with Google Sheets is a plus.
  • FP&A tools: Familiarity with Vena (CPM), Sage Intacct (ERP), SalesForce (CRM) is a plus.
  • Communication: Clear and confident communicator who can translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance audiences.
  • Business Partnership: Demonstrated ability to build relationships across functions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and a bias for action.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: Eager to understand how the business operates and proactively surface insights that improve decision-making.
