The Role
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll help shape Black Duck’s financial story -- from building the annual operating plan to translating numbers into insights leaders can act on. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams (Recruiting, HR, IT, Product -- you name it) and ensure our financials are not only accurate, but actually useful.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, making sense of complex data, and telling a clear story with numbers (bonus points if Excel brings you joy).
What You’ll Do
- Support the annual operating plan, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Own key components of the monthly and quarterly close, plus the analysis behind it
- Prepare financial content for Quarterly Business and Product Reviews
- Deliver weekly cash flow analysis to keep a steady pulse on financial health
- Build and present forecast analysis, including product P&Ls, to support investment decisions
- Create executive- and board-ready presentations that turn data into decisions
- Partner with Recruiting and HR to track headcount, open roles, and intern staffing
- Track and model benefits expenses across multiple entities
- Leverage automation and reporting tools to continuously improve financial processes
- Translate financial concepts for non‑finance partners—no jargon, no confusion
- Manage multiple priorities independently while keeping quality and integrity high
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of finance experience; tech or SaaS environment preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statements
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
- Clear communicator with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- High integrity and comfort working with minimal supervision
- Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning and NetSuite strongly preferred
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $79,800 – $119,000 CAD, plus bonus eligibility. Black Duck offers a competitive total rewards package. Actual compensation will be based on location, skills, experience, and education.
