JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing financial performance, producing insightful reports, and supporting strategic financial planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that support executive decision-making and drive business performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Financial Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze financial data from multiple systems including Salesforce and QuickBooks. Perform variance analysis and identify trends to support management decision-making. Conduct complex financial modeling and scenario analysis as needed.

2. Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports, management reports, and executive summaries that clearly communicate financial performance, trends, and insights. Generate regular and ad hoc reports from financial and resource management systems. Create data visualizations and presentations for senior leadership.

3. Capitalization Table Maintenance: Maintain accurate cap tables and ownership structures across the firm's entities. Track equity transactions, manage documentation, and ensure proper recording of ownership changes.

4. Compensation Calculations: Support the preparation and calculation of employee compensation including bonuses, profit sharing, and equity-based compensation. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all compensation-related calculations and reporting.

5. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency. Implement best practices and automation where possible. Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and workflows.

6. Financial Systems Management: Become proficient in the firm's financial systems (Salesforce-based and QuickBooks). Support system updates, data integrity initiatives, and leverage system capabilities to enhance reporting and analysis.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather financial information, support project analysis, and provide financial insights that support strategic initiatives.

8. Ad Hoc Projects: Support the Controller and Assistant Controller on special projects related to financial analysis, strategic planning, system implementations, and financial strategy development.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, Economics, or a related field required.

• 2-5 years of progressive finance or financial analysis experience, preferably in professional services or consulting environments.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and communicate findings clearly.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis tools.

• Experience with financial systems; Salesforce and QuickBooks experience a plus.

• Strong data visualization and presentation skills with ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.

• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to prepare executive-level presentations and reports.

• Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• High degree of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality with sensitive financial information.

• CPA or CFA designation a plus but not required.

Salary:

Actual compensation is influenced by many factors including individual skill set, experience, specific office location and qualifications. For positions located in New York City only, the range of starting base pay for this role is $75K-$95K.
