We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Finance Assistant to join our Finance team in Westbury. This role is crucial in supporting the Head of Finance with day-to-day financial operations and ensuring all accounting functions are delivered with accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The successful candidate will also act as a deputy for the Head of Finance when required, offering both leadership and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reconciliations

  • Perform accurate balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
  • Manage intercompany transactions and ensure compliant cross-charging between subsidiaries
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate cashbooks
  • Support and contribute to cash flow forecasting
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and account for depreciation
  • Manage accruals and prepayment schedules
  • Approve purchase orders and receipts in line with company policy

Payroll & Expense Management

  • Process company payrolls, ensuring precision and compliance with all statutory obligations
  • Review and approve expenses and purchase orders in accordance with policy

Management Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Provide financial insights and data to support decision-making and reporting
  • Ensure timely, accurate delivery of financial reports to senior management

Invoice Factoring

  • Manage invoice factoring processes to support smooth cash flow and accurate reconciliation

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify and implement improvements across the finance function
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal policies

Team Support

  • Offer ongoing support to the wider finance team
  • Conduct AR reviews and oversee cash collection targets

Requirements

  • Accounting qualification accredited by a recognized Accounting Accreditation Committee
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Senior Finance or General Ledger Accountant
  • Experience within a multinational enterprise
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency (Microsoft Office 365)
  • Payroll experience preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting standards, laws, and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to support both leadership and finance team operations
  • Sound understanding of financial statistics, UK and international VAT
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • 25 days holiday (increase each year by 1 day on your anniversary)
