Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineering leader to lead and expand the Context Intelligence Platform team. This platform is critical to various key workflows and it’s a gateway to contextual targeting and understanding of the Open Internet. By leveraging latest AI advancements, analysing hundreds of millions of documents and generating large volumes of data you will have a great opportunity to directly impact business and its performance. 

This unique opportunity is a new role which consists of overseeing and growing a top tier engineering team and building a complex platform for contextual content processing. Due to the strategic importance of the area, this role reports directly to the VP of Engineering. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight

• Create and communicate a vision and roadmap for how Context Intelligence Platform helps to move quickly and efficiently towards company goals.
• Define and drive strategy to meet ongoing platform and business needs and constraints. 
• Identify and prioritise technical initiatives to align and integrate with business goals.
• Solicit requirements from collaborators and foster excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Hire top talent and manage budget planning and oversight for the engineering team.
• Keep up to date on both macro and micro changes that may impact development efforts and goals and adapt development strategies based on learnings.
• Sponsor and support engineering initiatives, establishing standards, cost monitoring, and security / compliance efforts.

Leadership

• Lead, build, and manage technical teams of software engineering, data engineering and high throughput processing. 
• Recruit, coach, and manage engineers with varying skill sets and experience towards higher efficiency and excellence.
• Act as a mentor for other technical leaders and work to establish a strong bench of future leaders.
• Hold high standards and performance expectations for leaders and individual contributors.
• Recruit, develop, and manage team members in support of building a pipeline of top talent and team member career goals.
• Develop, modify and execute company policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may also have company-wide effect.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data science, engineering, and product management to enhance platform capabilities.

Technical oversight

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of our context intelligence platform.
• Foster a work environment that is innovative and fast and delivers high-quality software services.
• Interface with other business units to help establish common interfaces, workflows, best practices, and standards.
• Monitor platform performance and promote improvements to maintain competitive advantage.
• Develop and implement strategies to handle the high volume of documents efficiently and ensure high stability.
• Oversee the daily operations and ensure the platform meets performance, scalability, and reliability targets.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in leading engineering teams.
• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (coding in multiple languages, architectures of distributed systems).
• Experience in managing multiple cross functional teams.
• Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with a track record of influence and driving a change.
• Proven experience in leading scalable processing platforms, preferably in the ad tech industry.
• Expertise in handling large volumes of data and ensuring balance between processing times, cost and quality.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in software engineering.
• Understanding of real-time bidding, retargeting, and programmatic advertising would be a plus.
