We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to co-own and scale our connector portfolio alongside an established leadership team. We've already doubled our throughput through AI-augmented development. You'll help drive the next leap forward, pushing boundaries while raising the bar on quality.
You bring strong core engineering management skills needed to grow high-performing teams, a data engineering background (ETL, pipelines, APIs), and hands-on AI/LLM experience.
This is a full-time role based in Vienna or the surrounding area, with regular in-office presence as part of a flexible hybrid setup.
Some of the things you’ll work on:
-
Team Leadership & Strategy: Lead and coach high-performing, distributed engineering teams within the Connectivity domain, partnering closely with existing leadership. Own the technical roadmap, balancing near-term execution with long-term strategic direction.
-
Operational Excellence: Drive significant improvements in delivery throughput without compromising quality. Apply proven engineering practices alongside AI-enabled acceleration to deliver robust, scalable data integrations that power the Adverity platform.
-
Technical Oversight: Serve as a technical sparring partner for the team. While not coding day to day, use your engineering background to guide architectural decisions and help unblock complex technical challenges.
-
Innovation: Identify and champion opportunities to embed AI and LLMs into connectivity workflows, automating processes and improving team efficiency and impact.
-
Portfolio Management: Own the full lifecycle of the connector portfolio - scaling what works, and building what’s next.
-
Stakeholder Management: Act as a strong advocate for the engineering organisation. Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly and proactively to senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
We’re excited if you have:
- Proven track record as a Senior Engineering Manager (or experienced EM) leading agile development teams.
- Strong background as a hands-on Software Engineer (ideally Python) with deep understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
- Good understanding of the impact AI is having on engineering velocity, with eagerness to keep exploring how it can be used to accelerate delivery in practice.
- Comfort moving between long-term planning and hands-on problem solving to ensure ideas translate into outcomes.
- Leadership mindset: direct, proactive, and comfortable managing up. You communicate clearly, challenge assumptions when needed, and set direction.
Why you’ll love it here:
- Flexible working hours and home-office
- Internal shares program (EDPP)
- Ergonomic workspace and cutting edge technology
- Budget for job relevant training
- Free company health coaching
- Regular team events (also remote) and a yearly global team trip
- Modern and stylish offices
- Sustainable merch for all employees
- Adverity Social Responsibility Days (+2 days paid off)
If this position is filled in Vienna, the minimum gross salary is €90,000. If this vacancy is filled anywhere else, the salary may differ. In any case, we offer competitive salaries depending on your qualifications and experience.
