The expected outcome:

  • Reduce loss rate by improving Paid On Time Rate and Recovery Rate through better payment reminders, collections flows, and customer experiences.
  • Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team that delivers reliably against business-critical objectives.
  • Partner closely with Product, Credit Risk, and Growth to align engineering execution with customer and business outcomes.
  • Enable fast experimentation and learning cycles to continuously improve collections practices and uncover the next wave of product opportunities.
  • Establish clear ownership, accountability, and execution standards across the team.
  • Support the professional growth and performance tracking of engineers, fostering a high-performance and engaged team environment.
  • Manage the hiring, onboarding, and development of engineering talent to expand and strengthen the team.

The day to day tasks:

  • Partner with Product Managers to translate business goals (loss rate, recovery, on-time payment) into clear engineering priorities and OKRs.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of initiatives related to payments, reminders, collections, and recovery systems.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow engineers through regular one-on-ones, feedback, performance reviews, and career development plans.
  • Ensure strong engineering practices around reliability, observability, security, and scalability for customer-facing and operational systems.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Risk, Growth and finance to ensure solutions are effective, compliant, and operationally sound.
  • Own team capacity planning, technical risk management, and delivery predictability.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop engineering talent to strengthen team capabilities over time.
