Senior Engineer Manager - AI Startup | Stealth mode [33k - 38k PLN B2B]

Our client is a fast-growing AI-driven PropTech startup transforming the way homes are managed. Backed by a £2.7M pre-seed round and led by a highly experienced founding team from the UK and Poland, the company is building an AI-powered home management co-pilot that simplifies property ownership. With a launch planned for later this year, the company is expanding its engineering team to support rapid growth. This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious team and play a key role in shaping both the technology and product. Product: the company's mission is to revolutionise the way homes are managed by building an AI-powered property management co-pilot. This AI agent will help clients with all things property-related - from finding an electrician or plumber to comparing home insurance quotes. Their platform will also digitise all information about a property to proactively manage maintenance and admin. The goal is to alleviate typical frustrations associated with property maintenance and repairs, thus improving marketplace efficiency and saving time and money. The team is currently 9 people strong, including the CEO, CTO, CFO, UK Commercial Director, Head of Product, along with 3 founding engineers and a designer. With rapid growth ahead, they are actively expanding their team and looking for an engineering leader who will thrive in a startup environment. What our client can offer you: 💰Salary and type of contract: 33-38k PLN on B2B (and 0.3%+ ownership in the company, subject to a 4-year vesting schedule with a 1-year cliff, along with planned equity option grants in the future) 🚀Fast progression pathway and compensation review as the company grows 🌴Holiday: 26 paid working days off + sickleave 🖥️Equipment: MacBook⏱ Working hours: flexible (but there are dailies, plannings and retros they want you to part in) 🏢 Working mode: 100% remotely (with quarterly  offsites  in London’s HQ and occasional meetups in Poland  🇬🇧 Speaking language: English, as a part of the team is based in the UK Your tasks:
  • Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team, initially managing 4 engineers, with plans to expand rapidly.
  • Remain hands-on (~40%) in the short term, gradually transitioning to a fully managerial role as the team grows, where you will manage multiple pods.
  • Own the execution of the app development, ensuring we build practical technology capabilities needed to realise our vision.
  • Define and drive the engineering roadmap, balancing business needs, technical excellence, and speed.
  • Replace the CTO during his planned eight-week leave, taking full responsibility for technical delivery.
  • Work closely with the Head of Product to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Drive planning, resource allocations, trade-offs, and prioritisation discussions across business, product, and engineering.
  • Participate in quarterly OKRs planning, working closely with peers and teams to remove impediments, articulate tradeoffs, and secure resources.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Inspire and coach engineers, providing tailored feedback to increase their impact.
  • Champion a growth mindset, encouraging experimentation, learning from failures, and continuous improvement.
  • Build a team that thrives in ambiguity, navigating the unknown and adapting quickly to new challenges.
  • Ensure engineering best practices, including high-quality coding, testing, CI/CD, and scalable cloud infrastructure.
  • Lead by example, setting a high bar for technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • What you’ll need:
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a managementrole.
  • Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering teams, with a strong focus on career growth and impact.
  • Startup experience is a must—comfortable in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment
  • Technical expertise in our stack:Frontend: React.js and React NativeBackend: Python (FastAPI)Cloud: AWS, Docker
  • High ownership and accountability, with a history of driving projects from ideation to execution.
  • Deep understanding of engineering best practices, including performance optimization, scalability, and testing.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to align engineering with business goals.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in defining solutions and removing roadblocks.
  • Excited about GenAI and Agentic AI, with a passion for leveraging AI to transform industries.
  • Fluent in English (C1 minimum) for effective communication.
  • Nice to haves: familiarity with Gen AI technologies, RAG & ReAct Models, LangChain, LLMs

    - System Design interview - 60 minutes
    - Coding interview - 60 minutes
    - 2nd Product Interview with Head of Product  - 45 minutes
    - HM interview with the CTO  - 60 minutes
    4) Final interview with the CEO - 30 minutes
