Senior Engineer - Data (Remote - MAryland)

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient distributed data systems supporting advanced analytics platforms.
• Utilize languages and technologies such as Python, SQL, Apache Spark, dbt, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure services.
• Collaborate across teams to shape product definitions and deliver optimal data solutions.
• Lead design sessions and conduct code reviews to uphold engineering quality standards.
• Develop reusable data components aligning with business and technical needs.
• Build analytics platforms to fulfill organizational reporting requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices within and across teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering, programming, and big data technologies.
• Strong skills with Python, SQL, dbt, Apache Spark, Kafka, Git, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or equivalents.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI or Superset.
• Proven ability to architect and design scalable systems, including microservices and API integration (REST, GraphQL).
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and tools, including Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced scripting skills with PowerShell and expertise in monitoring and security protocols.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to excel in fast-paced, dynamic environments with strong problem-solving skills.
