Senior Email Marketing Specialist for Marketing Agency (US-Based, Remote)

Our client is hiring a Senior Marketing Specialist/Strategist to own strategy and execution across ~5 e-commerce client accounts. This person will lead brand messaging, campaign planning, email/SMS strategy, and oversee the creative direction provided to designers and copywriters (will have access to project manager to make things move through well). They must be highly organized, proactive, and able to ensure every client’s retention ecosystem is healthy, consistent, and growing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own overall retention marketing strategy for ~5 e-commerce brands.
• Develop brand messaging direction, campaign themes, and monthly content calendars.
• Review and guide designers/copywriters with clear direction, inspiration, and feedback.
• Ensure all creative output meets brand standards and supports client KPIs.
• Input topics for campaigns and maintain structured campaign planning.
• Oversee email flows, SMS automations, segmentation, and optimization.
• Generate ideas for content, angles, and storytelling that fit each brand.
• Deep knowledge of Klaviyo (must):
• Troubleshooting & resolving deliverability, segmentation, profile issues, etc.
• List suppression & cleaning
• Deliverability monitoring
• Reporting & performance analysis
• Familiarity with supporting tools such as AliaLearn, offer platforms, and other retention-related SaaS.
• Perform weekly health checks in each Klaviyo account (no face-to-face required):
• List growth
• Deliverability
• Flow triggers
• Revenue pacing
• Suppression insights
• Ensure all setups are correct, up to date, and meeting best practices.
• Work closely with copywriters, designers, project managers, and brand stakeholders.
• Communicate strategy clearly and proactively keep accounts on track.
• Maintain excellent organization, prioritization, and time management across accounts.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years in email & SMS strategy, specifically for e-commerce brands.
• Proven Klaviyo expert—technical, strategic, and creative.
• Strong eye for branding, creative direction, and high-conversion messaging.
• Comfortable leading a team of creatives and setting clear direction.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

• Able to work full-time during MST business hours.
