The Mission of the Senior Electronics Test Engineer

The Senior Electronics Test Engineer drives the qualification of new satellite technologies by designing and executing robust test plans, campaigns, and test equipment to ensure readiness for production and AIT activities. Through close collaboration, thorough documentation, and effective knowledge transfer, the role enables continuous improvement, efficient testing, and successful scaling of satellite manufacturing.

Requirements

Expected Outcomes & Requirements

  • New technology qualification campaigns are planned, executed, and delivered on schedule with risks actively identified and mitigated.
  • Qualification plans effectively validate power, digital, and mixed-signal electronics against defined design and performance requirements.
  • Test procedures, results, assembly instructions, and review documentation are complete, accurate, and ready for internal reviews.
  • Test data is analyzed thoroughly, failures are investigated through root-cause analysis, and clear results are communicated to key stakeholders.
  • Actionable technical feedback is provided to designers to improve product robustness and testability.
  • Scalable and efficient test automation is enabled through well-designed EGSE, data acquisition systems, and custom test hardware and software.
  • New team members are successfully mentored, accelerating onboarding and maintaining high engineering and testing standards.

Role-specific Competences

  • Bsc/MSc degree in Electronic Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in the area of testing, test automation, and electronics.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leading R&D projects.
  • Experience as an electronics test engineer and/or electronics design engineer.
  • Experience developing automated tests and the complete test development life cycle of products.
  • Experience with test jig and fixture design.
  • Experience with microcontrollers programming.
  • PCB design with Altium or a similar electronics design (EDA) tool.
  • SPICE-based circuit simulation.
  • Testing a custom electronics system with a wide variety of lab equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers, thermal chambers, and others.
  • Performing root-cause analysis on failures.
  • A positive attitude and a desire to learn new things.
  • Experience mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Suits well in multicultural environments
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
