The salary for this role is £42,858 (inclusive of a Specialist Allowance). Onsite working is expected for 5 days a week.
This role is based at the following site: Culham, Oxfordshire
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Technician to join the RACE team, taking a leading role in the wiring, modification, commissioning, maintenance, and operation of advanced electromechanical remote handling systems.
This is a senior, hands-on technical position, requiring a high level of technical competence and judgement, in which you will lead by example while supervising and supporting a team of technicians.
You will work closely with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders, contributing your expertise to both the development and delivery of innovative new electrical systems, and the support of existing equipment.

Candidates not meeting the full criteria for the higher level (currently advertised at level 4 graded internally), may be considered for a Level 3 appointment, involving team-based technical work rather than supervisory duties and requiring less experience.
