Senior Electrical Engineer

AI overview

Contribute to the development of innovative smart home hardware by designing prototypes, testing circuits, and collaborating across teams to ensure functionality and quality.

TLDR

Hands-on EE R&D engineer for smart home devices. Leads hardware bring-up, prototypes, test setups, and electro-mechanical integration. Strong in soldering, debugging, and lab work. Manages component inventory and collaborates with cross-functional teams.

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years hands-on experience

  • Strong EE fundamentals (schematics, tools, soldering)

  • Self-driven, fast learner, team player

Ideal for someone who loves working on early-stage hardware with real impact.

What’s the role about?

We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team and help us build smart home hardware. You’ll be working on everything from prototypes and test setups to board bring-ups and product validation. This isn’t a sit-behind-a-desk role — we need someone who’s great with tools, enjoys figuring things out, and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

You’ll be a key part of our hardware development process, working closely with mechanical, software, and product teams to make sure everything works together — and works well.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the design and build of early-stage prototypes and setups for testing components and ideas
  • Bring up new boards and debug hardware/software issues
  • Design, solder, repair, and test circuits and small electronic assemblies
  • Read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams, and turn them into working setups
  • Run performance and reliability tests (stress tests, temperature, etc.)
  • Work with embedded software where needed — loading firmware, using debug tools, etc.
  • Maintain lab inventory, order parts, and work with vendors
  • Keep things documented and organized so we don’t waste time reinventing the wheel
  • Support product assembly and debug during builds — and help troubleshoot when things go sideways.

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in electrical or mechanical technology (associate’s or higher)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with hardware — building, testing, fixing
  • Comfortable with tools like soldering irons, scopes, and multimeters
  • Able to read schematics, follow signals, and chase down bugs
  • Quick learner who enjoys figuring out new tech
  • Can juggle a few projects at once and work independently when needed
  • Friendly, collaborative, and communicative — we like nice people :)

If you love building stuff, solving problems, and working on real products from the ground up, we think you’ll fit right in.
