The Opportunity That Awaits You:
The Senior Electrical Engineer works within the Electrical Engineering group within the R&D Capital Equipment department. The position will be responsible for developing electrical systems for PROCEPT’s electro-mechanical products, including electronics feasibility, requirements definition, design, design verification, test system development, manufacturing procedure development, and production transfer activities at various stages of the product development cycle. Development will be conducted in accordance
with PROCEPT’s quality system.
What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
Design, develop, test, maintain, and document electrical systems for PROCEPT’s products in
accordance with PROCEPT’s quality system
Major contributor within electrical engineering team with primary focus on visualization systems,
camera hardware, imaging electronics and image/video processing
Design and develop circuit boards, provide electrical specifications for cables, and specify test
fixtures to assist with research and prototyping of visualization systems
Ensure designs consider mechanical, firmware, software, and system interactions, as well as
testability, manufacturability, usability, materials compliance
Work in a lab environment and operate typical Lab instruments, such as Multimeters,
Oscilloscope, power supplies, waveform generators, etc.
Document the electrical design with hardware requirements specification, dFMEAs, hardware design descriptions, drawings and specifications, including component specifications, verification plans, protocols, test methods, and test reports
Maintain knowledge and provide support for multiple electronics parts of the system, including
existing and developing products
Provide input for project schedules
May be asked to assist with agency testing for UL, CE, and other certifications (ie. IEC 60601)
Host and participate in review activities for circuit design, layout design, component selection, and subsystem risk analysis and mitigation
Work independently, requiring minimal supervision
Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics
Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance
Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality and EHS policies
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Advanced degrees preferred.
Minimum of 8+ years related experience and/or training
Excellent written and verbal communication
Attention to detail
Has a positive attitude and takes initiative
Experience in high-speed Chip-to-Chip video interfaces such as MIPI, LVDS, GMSL, and CML
Circuit design proficiency: Multi-gigabit SerDes, ADC, DAC, isolators, analog bridge, USB controller, signal integrity
Knowledge of CMOS sensor and image processing pipelines
Proficient with PCBA design with Altium Designer, OrCAD or similar
Knowledge of FPGA design tools (Xilinx/Altera) a plus
Proven track record of DFx – design for signal integrity, EMI, test, manufacturability,
assembly, yield, usability
Ability to work within a cross functional environment with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with a flexible approach to handling multiple projects
The Qualifications We Would Like You to Possess
Medical device, biotech, or other heavily regulated industry background strongly desired.
Knowledge and experience with robotic systems, ultrasound, and endoscopy
Comfortable with document control, requirements tracking, bug tracking, project management tools
Experience with IEC 60601-1-2 and IEC 60601-1. IEC 60601-2-18, a plus

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $140,000-190,000 per year.
Plus, eligibility for an annual bonus and equity/RSUs

PAY RANGE TRANSPARENCY
Procept is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role represents a base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Procept utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
We’ll provide you training for, and ask you to maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
