The Senior Director of Sales is responsible for leading and scaling the company’s commercial strategy for organic nitrogen fertilizers across agricultural markets. This role owns customer acquisition, strategic account growth, partner development, and sales forecasting while serving as a critical bridge between Sales, Operations, and the Executive Team. The ideal candidate brings deep relationship-building skills, agricultural market knowledge, and experience aligning sales demand with production realities. 

Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:    

Sales Leadership & Strategy 

  • Develop and execute the company’s sales, marketing, and outreach strategy to drive profitable growth across organic agricultural markets 
  • Lead new account development, from prospect identification through contract execution 
  • Oversee and expand existing customer relationships, ensuring long-term retention and growth 
  • Build and lead a regional sales and product support team as the company scales 

Relationship & Partner Development 

  • Establish and manage strong relationships with growers, distributors, retailers, and strategic channel partners 
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships across relevant distribution channels 
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface with key strategic customers and partners 

Cross-Functional Coordination 

  • Collaborate closely with Operations to align sales forecasts with production planning, inventory management, and logistics 
  • Interface with manufacturing and supply chain teams to support accurate demand planning and on-time delivery 
  • Ensure sales commitments reflect production capabilities and capacity constraints 

Forecasting, Reporting & KPIs 

  • Own sales forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue projections 
  • Track and report critical KPIs including sales pipeline health, customer conversion, revenue growth, and partner performance 
  • Provide regular, clear updates to the Executive Team and Operations on sales performance, risks, and opportunities 

This position has multiple levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Agronomy or related field required  
  • 15+ years in ag-related sales (fertilizer, biologicals, crop inputs, ag distribution, etc.) 
  • Proven sales leadership experience in agriculture, fertilizers, biologicals, or related inputs 
  • Strong understanding of organic production systems and nutrient markets preferred 
  • Demonstrated success building and managing strategic customer and distribution relationships 
  • Experience leading sales teams and working cross-functionally with operations and executive leadership 
  • Data-driven mindset with experience managing forecasts, pipelines, and performance metrics 
  • Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language    

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION   

  • Compensation for this role is between $145,000 – 215,000 annually   
  • This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success   
  • This role requires approximately 40% travel to support Sedron facilities   
  • In compliance with state and local pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this role is shared above. The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
