PortPro
PortPro

Senior Director of Marketing

$175,000 – $225,000 per year

TLDR

Own and execute PortPro's marketing strategy as a hands-on player-coach while driving demand and defining product positioning in the logistics industry.

About PortPro PortPro is an AI-led operating system built for drayage. We power trucking companies that move containers in and out of America’s ports, a mission-critical often overlooked corner of the supply chain. We’re an AI-enhanced, hypergrowth SaaS company rapidly scaling. We’ve hit the inflection point where the right marketing leader will help us turn category awareness into category leadership. If you love rolling up your sleeves, building the plane while flying it, and translating a versatile product into messaging that lands, keep reading. The Role We’re hiring a Senior Director of Marketing to own our marketing strategy and execution. This is not a sit-back-and-strategize role. You’ll be a player-coach who can write the messaging, ship the campaign, brief the agency, and report on the pipeline, sometimes all in the same week. You’ll partner closely with our SVP of Sales, CEO, and Product team to drive demand, sharpen positioning, and tell PortPro’s story to a fast-growing audience of drayage operators. You’ll be empowered to build out the function as we scale.  Notably, right now we need someone who can do the work, not just manage it. What You’ll Do

•       Own and execute PortPro’s end-to-end marketing strategy across product marketing, demand generation, content, brand, and field/event marketing.

•       Lead product marketing: positioning, messaging, launches, sales enablement, competitive intelligence, and customer storytelling for a category-defining product.

•       Drive demand generation programs (paid, SEO, lifecycle, ABM, partner, and event-led) that produce qualified pipeline and measurable revenue impact.

•       Partner with Sales to build a tight, accountable feedback loop on ICP, message-market fit, conversion rates, and pipeline velocity.

•       Translate a technical, AI-enhanced platform into clear, compelling stories for drayage operators including owners, dispatchers, and operations leaders who don’t have time for jargon.

•       Build, run, and report on a marketing budget with discipline. Know your CAC, payback, pipeline coverage, and source-of-pipeline numbers cold.

•       Hire and coach a small, high-leverage team over time starting by being hands-on yourself.

•       Represent PortPro at industry events, on webinars, and in customer conversations. You’ll be a voice of the brand, not just the strategist behind it.
Who You Are

We’re looking for a marketer on the rise, someone with a clear track record of progression, but still very much in the doer-leader phase of their career. Specifically:

•       Proven progression, not just a senior title. You’ve grown from individual contributor to manager to leader, and your résumé shows it. You’re hungry for the next step, not coasting on the last one.

•       Scrappy and hands-on. You’ve worked at startups or lean teams (think seed through Series B/C) where you wrote the email, built the landing page, briefed the designer, and pulled the report yourself. You don’t wait for headcount to make things happen.

•       Marketing all the way through. Your career has a consistent marketing thread ideally weighted toward product marketing and demand generation. You can talk positioning frameworks and pipeline math with equal fluency.

•       Product marketing chops. You’ve led launches, built ICP and persona work that sales used, and crafted messaging that moved win rates.

•       Demand gen operator. You’ve owned a full funnel number including MQLs, SQLs, pipeline, or sourced revenue and hit it. You know which channels work for B2B SaaS and which are vanity.

•       Domain edge (a strong plus). Experience in logistics, drayage, freight tech, supply chain SaaS, or at an AI-native B2B company. If you’ve marketed to operators of physical businesses, you understand our buyer.

•       Excellent writer and storyteller. You can take a complex AI-enabled workflow and turn it into a one-liner a dispatcher will repeat back to you.

•       Data-driven, but commercially minded. You measure what matters, ignore what doesn’t, and tie marketing to revenue — not impressions.

•       AI-fluent. You’re using modern AI tools to move faster and produce better work, and you’re excited to market a product that’s doing the same for our customers.

Nice To Have

•       Experience marketing into trucking, logistics, drayage, freight forwarding, or 3PL audiences.

•       Background at an AI-first or AI-pro B2B SaaS company.

•       Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, and the next-gen B2B marketing stack.

•       Hands-on experience with ABM motions for SMB and mid-market accounts.

Our Team

Our team is like family. Working at PortPro, we want you to feel like you are part of the bigger picture, not just working for yourself. We work in a no-drama, no-ego environment. We work together and collaboratively to achieve the same goal. We are a team of smart, kind, hardworking people. You’ll be surrounded by those that inspire you to bring your best self to work each day.

Our Core Values

1.     Always Do the Right Thing: Every single one of us are faced with decisions throughout our life. We can choose Option A or Option B. We can go down Path A or Path B. At the end of the day, whatever choices we have to make, we expect each employee of PortPro to ALWAYS choose the RIGHT thing.

2.     Good Energy Only: If there’s one thing we do not tolerate as an organization, that’s bad energy and bad vibes. This is a core value that can make or break a company, so as long as each of us are showing up each day with good intentions and good energy, we can achieve great success individually and as a team. We do not tolerate gossiping, speaking negatively about the company/team members, or anything that can affect the energy of the team.

3.     Lead By Example: Being a leader means leading by example — and at PortPro, we only hire leaders. That means, if you expect someone to show up on time — YOU need to show up on time. If you expect someone to get their tasks done — YOU need to get your tasks done. If you expect your colleagues to show up with good energy — YOU need to show up with good energy. So on and so forth.

4.     Be a Team Player: We are a fast, fast-growing company. What that means is, sometimes we need to wear a lot of hats and do things we don’t necessarily want to do or things that “fit our job description.” For example, if you are a trainer that finishes your day at 5:00 PM, but there is a customer that really needs training at 7:00 PM or maybe even on the weekend — you stepping up to the plate and offering to be a team player by helping this customer does NOT go unnoticed and this sort of attitude and effort will be rewarded.

5.     Show Up Ready: We expect each employee to be professional. This means whether we are speaking to prospects, customers, or colleagues — we show up to meetings prepared, with an agenda, knowing exactly what we came to get out of that meeting. We need to be intentional and organized, so that we can be as efficient as possible and make the best use of everyone’s time, including our own.

6.     Be Proactive: Being proactive means NOT being reactive… it means having an entrepreneurial mindset. If a prospect or customer asks you a question and you don’t know the answer, go out and FIND the answer. If you don’t know how to do something in PortPro’s drayOS system, and everyone is busy at the moment, do everything you can to figure out the answer without waiting on others to get back to you.

Equal Opportunity & AI in Hiring

We’re an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.
