Job Summary:

Ruggable is looking for an accomplished and strategic Senior Director, Controller to own and scale its global accounting function. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role owns end-to-end global controllership operations, including financial close, external reporting, technical accounting, and controls. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, experience in international and high-growth environments, and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams at scale.

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead international accounting operations and own the preparation and delivery of accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local accounting standards
  • Own and continuously improve the monthly close process, driving increased speed, accuracy, and scalability across global entities
  • Ensure accurate intercompany accounting, transfer pricing support, and foreign currency translation across global entities
  • Lead technical accounting assessments and author accounting memos for complex transactions and new business initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across the organization
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance a strong internal control environment, including SOX-readiness as the company scales
  • Serve as the primary owner for annual financial and statutory audits, partnering with the Director of Accounting and external auditors
  • Act as the accounting owner of NetSuite, including multi-entity consolidations, chart of accounts design, and ongoing system optimization
  • Partner with Finance and Treasury on the preparation and execution of the annual 409A valuation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, IT, HR, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective operational execution
  • Identify, implement, and scale accounting systems, tools, and process improvements to support growth and close acceleration
  • Partner with IT to drive automation, workflow improvements, and system enhancements that improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the GL, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and reporting teams, with accountability for balance sheet integrity
  • Build and sustain a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, trust, and continuous improvement

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Director-level leadership
  • CPA certification
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or Top 10 preferred)
  • Deep technical expertise in US GAAP and international accounting requirements
  • Experience leading accounting functions in global, multi-entity organizations
  • Proven track record of scaling accounting teams, processes, and systems in high-growth environments
  • Extensive hands-on experience with NetSuite in a multi-subsidiary environment
  • Experience supporting DTC and wholesale consumer product businesses, including inventory accounting at scale (standard costing, reserves, obsolescence)
  • Demonstrated success accelerating the close and improving accounting processes and controls
  • Experience in a PE-backed, startup, or pre-IPO environment

Compensation:

  • $225,000 - $250,000 per year base salary, dependent on experience
  • An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
  • Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
