We’re seeking a Senior Director, Corporate Communications & PR. This role is central to elevating our brand, protecting and enhancing our corporate reputation, and advancing broader awareness of a market-leading, client-centric firm entering an exciting new chapter.

 

As a senior member of the Brand and Corporate Communications teams, you’ll craft clear, compelling narratives that honor our legacy, highlight our innovation, and instill confidence during the moments that matter. You’ll partner closely with executives and subject matter experts across the organization to deliver proactive, creative, and integrated communications that support growth, strengthen trust, and extend our reach to new audiences.

 

You’ll bring strategic rigor, editorial excellence, sound judgement, and an agile, collaborative approach, to shape how the world understands who we are today — and where we’re headed.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and oversee enterprise-level strategic communications and PR strategies that translate business priorities into impactful narratives, support growth objectives, and protect and advance the firm’s reputation.
  • Lead communications around strategic developments and corporate announcements, shaping narratives that reinforce the firm’s position, strategy, and long-term value to clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Counsel and collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to ensure corporate communications efforts are timely, relevant, and risk-aware.
  • Elevate executive visibility, developing platforms and thought leadership that strengthen the firm’s perspective and reinforce its industry leadership.
  • Serve as senior media relations strategist and spokesperson, cultivating key journalist relationships, representing the firm in media interactions, preparing executives for public and press engagements, and advancing a strong, credible market presence and drive high-impact coverage.
  • Support crisis and issues communications, supporting rapid response, advising senior executives, and ensuring consistent, risk-smart communications during sensitive and evolving situations.
  • Measure performance and drive continuous improvement, using analytics, media insights, and stakeholder feedback to optimize PR programs and enhance awareness, sentiment, and reputation.

 

Requirements:

 

  • 10+ years of progressive PR and corporate communications experience, with a blend of in-house and agency roles; financial services, consumer finance, and/or wealth/asset management experience strongly preferred.
  • Extensive and hands-on experience in media relations, message development, and corporate reputation management, spokesperson experience strongly preferred.
  • Compelling and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
  • An agile, creative, and strategic approach to work, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to deliver results under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $155,000 - $207,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
