Position Overview

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and scaling Adaptive’s DevOps ecosystem, serving as a technical leader and mentor within the DevSecOps team. This role collaborates closely with development, QA, and security to deliver resilient, automated systems that accelerate software delivery and ensure operational stability. The Senior DevSecOps Engineer leads complex infrastructure initiatives, drives adoption of modern DevSecOps practices, and helps shape the architecture and standards of Adaptive’s engineering platform.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Lead design and implementation of CI/CD automation frameworks across multiple environments.
  • Architect infrastructure and deployment strategies leveraging cloud-native solutions and IaC.
  • Champion reliability, scalability, and observability across the production stack.
  • Provide mentorship to junior DevSecOps engineers and advocate for best practices in automation and monitoring.
  • Integrate tools such as GitLab, JFrog, Docker, Postman, and LaunchDarkly into delivery workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, compliance, and performance objectives are met.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define the DevSecOps roadmap and technology standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response planning.

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Other)

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 7 years of experience in DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.
  • Master’s Degree with 5yrs of related experience in DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.
  • Deep experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and monitoring solutions.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Proven ability to lead complex system design efforts and mentor other engineers.
  • Experience with high-availability, security, and compliance-focused environments.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily hybrid work environment.
  • Regular weekday hours, with occasional after-hours support for deployments.
  • Limited travel for collaboration and team events

Compensation

Salary Range: $132,000 - $198,000

Other compensation elements include:

  • equity grant
  • bonus eligible

Adaptive’s posted compensation information includes a base salary (or hourly rate) range and summary of other available total compensation. The base salary range represents a minimum-to-maximum salary (or hourly rate) available to candidates upon extension of offer. Base salary is thoughtfully considered upon offer and is determined through multiple evaluation checks throughout the interview process, including: a candidate’s ability to meet minimum qualifications (skills/experience/education), a candidate’s ability to thoughtfully address preferred qualifications, current market conditions, and internal pay equity. Listed base salary is exclusive of bonus, commission, equity, differential pay, benefits, and other incentives.
