At OPP, we're building the infrastructure backbone for Europe's leading marketplaces, and we need a technical pioneer who gets excited about both system architecture and teamwork to support us. Unlike traditional roles where you're maintaining someone else's infrastructure, you'll be designing and maintaining everything from scratch. Our secret? We keep all infrastructure in-house, giving you maximum impact and endless opportunities to think of new solutions.

When millions of users trust platforms like Marktplaats, Nature.house and IKEA with their payments, your infrastructure makes it possible. You’ll be working with a sophisticated AWS environment that combines EC2 instances and Kubernetes clusters, backed by MySQL, OpenSearch, and Redis. Think scalable GitLab CI/CD, Terraform for infrastructure as code, and Lambda functions - all powering billions in yearly transactions.

Depending on your expertise and interests, you’ll dive into:

• Designing and implementing cloud solutions from scratch

• Driving our AWS architecture forward with real ownership

• Building new workflows, monitoring, testing performance and adopting fit-for-purpose tech

• Owning critical CI/CD and release processes

Requirements

Your track record tells us

This role is not about tickets and monitoring only, it’s about real architectural decisions and building systems that matter.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience

• You’ve designed and owned AWS infrastructure in production (not just operated it)

• You have experience with high-traffic, mission-critical platforms

• Deep knowledge of automation and infrastructure design

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform (or CloudFormation)

• Ability to keep infrastructure stable, scalable, secure, and performant

• You understand application testing and system dependability
