We work hybrid at Plenty of Fish - IRL in our downtown Vancouver office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and work remotely the remainder of the week!

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will maintain and improve our release pipeline by building better tools and providing deployment support from Development through Production.  This role will work closely with IT Operations, Development, and QA to ensure the highest possible release and production quality.

So, what will you do?

  • Automate and maintain the Plenty of Fish build, test, deployment, configuration management and server provisioning for our Windows, Linux, and Cloud environments
  • Improve the performance, security and scalability of the current Plenty of Fish toolset
  • Work with internal teams on ongoing efforts into tools, processes and people to further enhance DevOps capabilities 
  • Provide mentoring and training to other staff and squads as well as evangelizing improvements to our systems and practices
  • Lead the technical vision, direction and technology for the DevOps team and tools

You might be a match for this role if you have…

  • Minimum 5 years experience with continuous integration and deployment tools including ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, TeamCity and Octopus
  • High proficiency in implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as code and configuration management tools (including terraform and terragrunt) in an at-scale environment  
  • Significant experience with scripting languages (bash, Python)
  • A security driven mindset, you take pride in ensuring your team follows best practices related to security
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows, Linux, Docker and Kubernetes environments as well as experience with Cloud Providers (AWS or GCP)
  • Demonstrated project development and leadership skills 
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal direction
