We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help operate, scale, and evolve our Bluecat Cloud SaaS platform. This is a hands-on role focused on building, running, and improving production infrastructure on AWS, with a strong emphasis on automation, deployment pipelines, and operational stability.   In addition to supporting existing ECS-based workloads, this role will be responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of a Kubernetes (EKS)–based platform as applications are gradually onboarded. You will work closely with application, platform, and security teams to support ongoing development of our cloud platform   Key Responsibilities Platform Operations, DevOps & Kubernetes   ·       Own the day-to-day operation, reliability, and performance of production services running on AWS. ·       Operate and support containerized workloads across ECS and Kubernetes (EKS) environments. ·       Maintain and evolve an EKS-based platform, including cluster upgrades, add-ons, and operational tooling. ·       Manage Kubernetes workloads using Helm and standard deployment and release practices. ·       Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support safe, repeatable, and efficient deployments. ·       Automate infrastructure and operational workflows using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred). ·       Participate in an on-call rotation, respond to customer-impacting production incidents, and lead troubleshooting efforts. ·       Drive incidents through resolution, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventative improvements. ·       Troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, ingress, service discovery, and workload-level issues. ·       Improve system resiliency and reduce operational toil through automation, standardization, and better deployment practices as more services move to Kubernetes. ·       Observability & Operational Readiness   ·       Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, InfluxDB, etc.). ·       Improve alert quality and operational visibility to support effective on-call response. ·       Partner with application teams to ensure services are production-ready and operationally supportable. ·       Collaboration & Engineering Excellence   ·       Work closely with engineers across Toronto and Serbia teams to support production systems ·       Contribute to run books, operational documentation, and incident response processes. ·       Provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior DevOps and SRE engineers.     Required Skills & Qualifications   ·       5–8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or production operations roles. ·       Strong hands-on experience operating AWS production environments (ECS, EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, Route 53, CloudWatch).   ·       Experience supporting Kubernetes workloads in production, preferably on EKS. ·       Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred). ·       Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines. ·       Good understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), and distributed systems. ·       Proven experience participating in an on-call rotation and handling customer-impacting incidents. ·       Strong troubleshooting skills and a practical, automation-first mindset.     Preferred Qualifications   ·       Experience operating stateful services such as Postgres, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Redis, or InfluxDB. ·       Familiarity with Helm, Kubernetes add-ons, ingress controllers, and cluster upgrades. ·       Experience with AWS cost optimization and capacity planning. ·       Exposure to security best practices (IAM least privilege, network segmentation, WAF). ·       Experience supporting SaaS platforms   This position offers a salary range of 125,000 - 155,000 CAD per year plus participation in a discretionary bonus plan. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and qualifications. The role is for an existing vacancy.
