Location: Cambridge, UK OR Remote, UK (with regular travel to Cambridge)
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 p.a. (full-time equivalent, dependent on experience)
Basis: Permanent. Full-time, part-time or flexible

The role

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is looking to appoint a senior fundraising and development professional to support our ambitious, global mission to democratise computing and AI education for all young people. 

Reporting to the Vice President for Global Development, and working closely with the Chief Executive and other members of the leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and expanding partnerships with corporates, foundations, and individual high net worth donors. You will also lead on developing bids for contracts for educational services with government departments and agencies. 

While this role is based in the UK, you will be part of a global fundraising team and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our work all over the world. Alongside managing your own portfolio, you will manage a small team of fundraising and development specialists. 

The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful fundraising and partnership development, ideally in the education sector. You will have a deep understanding of the funding landscape, particularly in the UK, although experience of working in other markets will be a distinct advantage. You will ideally have some experience of bidding for government contracts. You should have experience of building and supporting teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with the VP of Global Development to develop and implement the Foundation's fundraising and development strategy to support the delivery of our strategy and business plan. 
• Proactively develop a pipeline of funding prospects. 
• Develop and sustain long term relationships with partners, ensuring that they feel connected to our mission and impact. 
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to develop proposals for support and bids for contracts, ensuring that they are aligned with our strategic goals, clearly articulated, and properly budgeted. 
• Monitor performance against grants and contracts, producing reports for funding partners and internal stakeholders as required. 
• Ensure that all fundraising activities are conducted in line with our values and agreed policies, including undertaking appropriate due diligence. 
• Ensure funding relationships, applications, stewardship, and reporting are appropriately documented on Salesforce.
• Lead a team of fundraising and development specialists, providing them with the clarity and support to enable them to do the best work of their careers. 
• Represent the Foundation externally with senior stakeholders, donors, partners, and influencers.

Experience and personal attributes

• Significant experience in a senior fundraising and development role, with a track record of raising seven figure donations. 
• Experience working with corporates, foundations, high net worth individuals, or government contracts. 
• Experience in the education sector. 
• A natural collaborator with a track record of working successfully across teams to achieve results.
• An experienced manager, with the ability to build diverse teams and support them to do great work; ideally you will have experience of managing remote teams.
• An outstanding communicator, with significant experience of pitching for funding. 
• Comfortable analysing and presenting data, including creating and presenting reports. 
• Numerate, with experience of building complex budget proposals. 
• Good organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience using Salesforce or an equivalent system to track and measure the partnership pipeline and make decisions based on data.

Our recruitment process
