Do you want to help build a world-class incident response capability that protects millions of players across one of the world’s most iconic gaming studios?
As a Security Engineer at Jagex, you’ll help develop a best-in-class incident response function that navigates challenging security incidents, drives process improvement, and fosters an open, learning-driven security culture. You’ll also play a key role in building the tools, automations, and detection infrastructure that allow us to scale our detection and response capability across threats to both our studio and our live gaming environments. This role sits within our Cyber team and includes participation in an on-call rotation.
• Responding to security events, triaging alerts, performing investigations and incident analysis, and communicating findings clearly.
• Improving processes, procedures, and technologies used for detection and response so we continually learn from each incident.
• Developing and running tools to gather security telemetry data from cloud production systems.
• Automating workflows to improve identification and response times for security events.
• Building and optimising detection rules to ensure focus on high-value alerts.
• Creating and maintaining runbooks and incident playbooks for new and existing detections.
• Leading threat hunting practices and identifying product and infrastructure signals to surface attacks.
• Creating and refining detections, workflows, and playbooks to accelerate incident response.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering teams across the studio.
• 8+ years’ experience as a security engineer, including monitoring, incident response, and threat hunting in cloud environments.
• Demonstrable expertise in AWS security controls and services.
• Proven ability to lead complex investigations involving multiple stakeholders.
• Experience coding for automation, alert enrichment, and detection development.
• Demonstrable ability to analyse endpoint, network, and application logs for anomalous events.
• Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms and cloud-scale data analysis.
• Knowledge of adversary TTPs and MITRE ATT&CK principles.
• Experience with OS internals and forensics across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Experience developing tooling using DevOps technologies and programming languages.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments, operations, and SaaS engineering practices.
