Monks is looking for an exceptional Visual Designer to collaborate hand in hand with one of our largest clients based in Cupertino in an embedded model. In this role, you will create various internal communication pieces seen by the client’s directors and managers. In addition, you will work alongside teams of Product Managers, Producers, and Strategists to communicate the impact our team creates. The ideal candidate for the role obsesses over typography and favors clean, minimal design.

You will be responsible for creating internal communication pieces for the client’s internal products. The designs include keynote presentations, responsive website design, and email design. You must be comfortable working in an iterative process.

Sensitivity to typography and composition is essential. Communication in a one-on-one and group setting is one of the biggest components of this role.

The position requires deliverables to be provided under tight deadlines and with input from many cross-functional stakeholders. Above all, the role requires a dedicated individual who understands the client’s high standards and design aesthetic to the core and shares our dedication to advancing education globally.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design keynote presentations and internal communication materials for client teams and leadership
  • Create responsive layouts for web and email communications
  • Collaborate closely with teams of Product Managers, Producers, Strategists, copywriters, and Creative partners
  • Work as part of a global Monks team of designers and creatives across time zones
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail and pixel-perfect execution
  • Ensure consistency across formats while adhering to Apple brand and design guidelines
  • Manage files, naming conventions, and assets with exceptional organization
  • Deliver high-quality work under tight timelines in a production environment
  • Participate actively in feedback cycles and iterative design processes
  • Represent Monks from a design point of view while embedded client-side

Key Qualifications: 

You’re a thoughtful designer who balances creativity with precision. You care deeply about typography, composition, and storytelling. You thrive in collaborative environments, stay organized under pressure, and take pride in delivering beautiful, consistent work at scale

  • 5+ years of experience in visual, marketing, or interactive design
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience with Keynote and Sketch (After Effects or Premiere skills are a plus)
  • Excellent typography, layout, and composition skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, pixel-perfect precision.
  • Ability to work with creative design and storytelling.
  • Experience with marketing design: responsive websites, emails, and logo identity .
  • Diligence in file-naming structures and file organization.
  • Prior experience in a time-sensitive production environment.
  • Expert communicator.
  • Experience working with copywriters.

 

Education

  • BFA, BA, MA, or equivalent professional experience

Additional Requirements

  • Portfolio demonstrating creative and production design work (required)
  • Ability to work onsite in Cupertino three days per week
