About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Data Scientist to join our data science team. In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis to solve complex problems and drive strategic decisions across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders and engineers to uncover insights and develop cutting-edge data-driven solutions that directly influence strategic planning, resource allocation, and product development.

This role will be hybrid in our Union Square, NYC office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own the development, validation, and deployment of advanced Machine Learning models, managing dependencies and coordinating with other team members to ensure successful delivery.
  • Design and execute rigorous data-driven research to analyze the impact of various factors on business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous problems into structured analytical solutions and suggest new initiatives that unlock organizational value.
  • Communicate complex methodologies and findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, acting as a technical leader within the org.
  • Proactively search, identify, and implement improvements to team processes, tooling, and standards.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and state-of-the-art methodology in data science.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or a PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to select and apply appropriate advanced data science methodologies to solve complex business problems.
  • Deep expertise in a complex data science domain (e.g. NLP, causal inference) with practical experience applying a range of data science methodologies (e.g., classification, time series analysis, deep learning, etc.).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL and experience with large datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Experience productionizing machine learning models and familiarity with MLOps concepts.
  • An advocate for clean code principles and engineering best practices.
  • Proven ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights for diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in the Real Estate industry or other market-driven domains is a plus.

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $173,400-$195,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
