About the team + role

The Brokerage team builds and operates the foundational products that power Robinhood’s trading experience. Our mission is to create innovative, secure, and intuitive brokerage solutions that empower millions of users to participate in financial markets. As part of this dynamic and collaborative team, you'll partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and design to push the boundaries of what brokerage technology can achieve.

As a Senior Data Scientist on the Brokerage team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping strategy and delivering data-driven insights that fuel the growth of our brokerage products. You’ll perform in-depth analyses, develop optimization-based solutions, and partner closely with stakeholders to inform pricing decisions and enhance trading experiences. Your work will directly influence product development and contribute to Robinhood’s broader mission to democratize finance for all.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover opportunities that drive key business metrics.
  • Design and implement solutions using optimization, advanced analytics, and statistical techniques to improve pricing and assess trading strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate model-driven decisions into product and operational workflows.
  • Evaluate solution effectiveness through A/B testing, causal inference, and performance monitoring.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you bring

  • PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics) with 3+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in pricing optimization or similar domains.
  • A strong passion for solving complex business problems through optimization and data analysis.
  • Expertise in querying and analyzing large-scale datasets using SQL and Spark.
  • Proven ability in applying statistical methods, predictive modeling, and optimization algorithms in solving business problems
  • Ability to translate complex analytical outcomes into actionable business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of partnering across functions.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
