About Plato

Plato is the AI-powered Sales Intelligence platform for B2B wholesale. We turn reactive sales teams into proactive revenue engines by surfacing hidden opportunities in their data: who’s at risk, who’s ready to buy more, and what products to recommend next.

Wholesale is unlike e-commerce or SaaS: sparse data, huge transactions, complex catalogs, and long-term relationships. Our models help sales reps know which of their 200 customers to call today - insights that can save a €2M account or unlock €50K in new monthly revenue.

The Role: Sr. Data Scientist

Build ML/AI systems for industries from construction to steel wholesale. This is not off-the-shelf ML: you’ll design models where success = revenue impact, not just accuracy.

You’ll work on:

  • Production AI at Scale: ML models across millions of transactions, 20+ enterprises, 500K+ SKUs.
  • End-to-End Ownership: From definition to deployment, evaluation, and A/B testing.
  • Complex Challenges: Sparse data, extreme imbalance, multi-objective optimization, scaling from SMBs to enterprises.

What Makes You Successful

  • Strong ML fundamentals, production experience, distributed computing, and solid engineering practices
  • Problem-solving from first principles, comfort with ambiguity, and business pragmatism
  • Proven record with irregular time series, hierarchical data, actionable insights, and multi-tenant ML

Bonus: B2B analytics, recommendation systems, supply chain, Databricks/Snowflake, MLOps, European context, German language.

PySpark, SQL, Python, Databricks, scikit-learn, OpenAI, AWS, Terraform, MLflow.
