The Role

The primary role will be to design and build data pipelines. You will be focused on developing and implementing solutions on AWS Data Engineering services (RDS, Aurora, EKS, ECS, IAM, S3), Confluent Kafka, Spark, Debezium, Cloud Native, and event-driven data pipelines. An ideal candidate needs to have a strong foundation in big data technology, familiarity with logging and monitoring using CloudWatch, Grafana or similar tools, and a passion to learn new technologies.

Your Team

We are a team of young and eager adventurers. You will be reporting to a Project Manager and enjoy the collaboration of team members within the project and capability. You will also get the opportunity to work with external stakeholders in the successful completion of project objectives.

You will work closely with our business partners, the household brands in technology, such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft and Outsystems.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and development of  data pipelines utilizing Kafka, ELK, Spark
• Read, extract, transform, stage and load data to multiple targets, including Databases, Data Lakes, and Data Warehouses using any of the ff: dbt, PySpark, etc.
• Work / manage gigabytes/terabytes of data and must understand the challenges of transforming and enriching such large datasets
• Migrate existing data processing from standalone or legacy technology scripts to Python or Scala on Spark framework processing

 About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/IT/Computing/Business or equivalent
• Advanced SQL scripting skill
• At least 3-4 years of professional experience in ETL project using Apache Spark 
• At least 2 years of professional experience in Linux environment
• At least 2 years of professional experience in Hadoop and Big Data Ecosystem 
• ETL experience (any tool) with one Change Data Capture (CDC) implementation

Nice to Have

• Experience in any cloud environment (GCP/AWS/Azure/Alibaba, etc)
• Devops, Git, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker containers
