Data is at the heart of player, product, and business insights on our titles. This critical role will build and grow the foundation for our studio in insights about our players and our business. The role will report to the Director of Data, Analytics & Insights (DAI). The person in this role is most successful when they can apply their technical skill to meet user needs and contribute to the development of highly scalable, robust CI/CD data ecosystems used to create incredible insights. The Senior Data Engineer will be a key player in the Data Engineering team, working with a group of talented engineers to develop and manage a data stack that will fuel the whole studio on insights for our games, players, and overall business. Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop and deliver data solutions and capabilities that integrate with online gaming technology.
Key Duties:

Participate in decision making for the data tech stack for the studio from architecture to deployment and maintenance.

Collaborate with analytics to support broader insights and data systems that benefit the business and team.

Engage in all aspects of agile software development and software lifecycle, including high-level design, architecture definition, implementation, testing, deployment.

Design, develop, test, deploy and manage software applications to support our use of data and advanced analytics.

Create software and tooling necessary for automated deployment pipelines.

Develop near real-time and batch-based data processing frameworks.
-
Build and maintain data pipelines to process diverse data sets at scale and with low latency.

Support and extend our data and analytics environments to provide additional tools and capabilities.

Containerize software applications and deploy them through orchestration systems.

Ensure reliability and security, assisting in the implementation of GDPR and PII policies through code.

Participate in the execution of projects and provide technical expertise to support our data products and insight strategy.

Work alongside and learn from members of the Data Engineering team.

Work with external development teams (2nd, 3rd or contractual) to successfully launch new technical products that provide advanced data science and analytical capabilities.

Maintain knowledge of the evolving data tech landscape, as well as industry trends; serve as an adept resource on data technologies.
Essential Skills:

3+ years of experience in data engineering
-
Be product focused, you will be expected to play and know the games we make.

A critical thinker who can make and communicate decisions clearly.

Solid understanding of design patterns and good code practices.

Working knowledge of CI/CD data stack architecture, maintenance, and iteration.

Experience in cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
-
Experience with cloud based big data ecosystems and infrastructure such as Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery.

Experience with modern data infrastructure tools such as DBT, Airflow and Kafka.
-
Highly proficient Python/SQL programmer required, Java/Scala skill are a plus.

Experience deploying applications through Container orchestration and scheduling systems (Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, Jenkins).

Experience with Linux/Unix systems, CLI, bash scripting.

Developing, deploying and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines

Proven history of adopting production related processes, deployment pipelines and reviews with experience working with Product Owners to expand user stories into engineering tasks, ensuring development is focused and impactful.

Understanding of current & future business needs relative to the gaming and technology industry.
