What You’ll Do

Analytical Leadership

• Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches
• Analyze large datasets in BigQuery and uncover trends, opportunities, and risks
• Develop clear metrics and refine existing KPIs to support operational and strategic goals
• Lead deep-dive investigations that help teams understand user behavior, product performance, or financial outcomes

Data Exploration and SQL Expertise

• Write advanced SQL in BigQuery to prepare datasets, conduct analyses, and validate results
• Build well-documented datasets that analysts and partners can rely on for reporting
• Understand partitioning, clustering, and basic cost-awareness to support efficient analysis

Dashboarding and Reporting

• Build dashboards and reports using tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
• Design visualizations that communicate insights with clarity
• Maintain documentation for metrics, definitions, and analytical logic
• Collaborate with product and business teams to ensure dashboards support decision-making processes

Experimentation and Statistical Insight

• Analyze A/B tests and experiments using sound statistical reasoning
• Apply techniques such as confidence intervals, significance testing, or uplift analysis
• Identify potential data issues or bias and share findings with clear recommendations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to align on data needs
• Provide guidance to less experienced analysts on SQL, analysis methods, and best practices
• Present insights in a clear narrative that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences

What You Bring

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL skills with significant experience in BigQuery
• Expertise in analytics and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
• Comfort working with large datasets and understanding core data modeling concepts
• Experience using Python or R for deeper analysis when needed
• Awareness of how datasets are produced upstream and ability to collaborate with data engineers

Analytical Depth

• Strong reasoning applied to ambiguous or complex business questions
• Clear understanding of statistics used in experimentation and data exploration
• Careful thinking about data quality, sampling, and reliability
• Ability to identify drivers behind patterns and translate them into practical insights

Professional Skills

• Strong communication with partners at all levels
• Steady ownership of deliverables and ability to organize work across multiple threads
• Capacity to mentor others and contribute to team development
• Advanced English proficiency

Nice to Have

• Experience with LookML or semantic modeling in Looker
• Familiarity with dbt or Dataform, especially when working with metric layers
• Experience with BigQuery ML for quick predictive or segmentation work
• Awareness of Composer, Airflow, or general pipeline contexts
• Experience analyzing event-based datasets
