Rebuild core PMS data foundations while supporting urgent analytical business needs, requiring strong SQL skills and a hands-on, technical approach.
Senior Data Analyst – PMS Data Foundations
Location: Madrid (Hybrid)
Our Practice Management Systems (PMS) operate across multiple countries and products - but today, the local PMS data foundations are fragmented, inconsistent, and in some cases non-existent.
This role exists to fix that - from the root.
We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst who can rebuild core PMS data foundations while simultaneously supporting urgent analytical business needs. This is not a “clean dashboard-only” role. It’s a hands-on, technical, sometimes messy role that requires curiosity, speed, resilience, and strong business judgment.
In the future, this role may evolve toward broader Data functions - but first, the foundations need to be built.
This role sits at the intersection of:
PMS product & engineering teams
Data Platform & Business Intelligence
Business stakeholders who need answers now, not “after the perfect model exists”
You will work closely with PMS engineering leadership, data platform teams, and business stakeholders across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Rebuilding PMS Data Foundations
Analyze and understand existing PMS data flows, tables, and definitions (often undocumented)
Rebuild and standardize core PMS data models from the ground up
Define and document key business metrics, entities, and logic
Create and maintain clear data definitions and documentation
Partner closely with Data Platform and PMS engineering teams to ensure scalable solutions
2. Hands-on Data Delivery (While Rebuilding)
Write fast, complex, and reliable SQL to answer business questions
Deliver ad-hoc and recurring analyses while infrastructure is still evolving
Balance long-term data quality with short-term business needs
Support stakeholders with data exploration, validation, and interpretation
3. Cross-functional Collaboration
Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams
Translate business questions into data requirements (and vice versa)
Work with developers in PMS teams where local data expertise may not exist
Influence decisions without formal authority
Must-haves (non-negotiable)
Very strong SQL skills - you can write complex queries quickly and confidently
Experience working with messy, incomplete, or poorly structured data
Solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments, handling different stakeholders and different requirements.
Strong business mindset - you care about why the data matters, not just how
Hands-on mentality: you’re comfortable doing the “not-so-nice” work
Technical background
3-6+ years in data analytics, data engineering, or similar roles
Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Superset or similar).
Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, or data processing
Experience with DBT (models, tests, documentation)
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience working closely with engineering teams
Soft skills & mindset
Resilient and persistent - this is a tough role, not a polished one
Curious and proactive - you dig deep to understand root causes and to detect flaws
Pragmatic - you know when “good enough” beats “perfect”
Clear communicator who can adapt to different audiences
Motivated by impact, not just titles or tools
Location & collaboration
Madrid is strongly preferred, as most PMS business, product and engineering stakeholders are based there
Hybrid working is supported
B2B or Employment contract - you choose.
True flexibility and work-life balance
