As part of the Security Operations team, you’ll be working with fellow team members and other engineering groups to implement new security solutions and ensure that our current processes and tools are running smoothly. We’re looking for a motivated security professional who enjoys building systems, integrating toolsets and AWS cloud security best practices. As mentioned, this is a hands-on role which will be crucial to building out our new secure cloud infrastructure. An ideal candidate would generally resonate with a DevSecOps skillset. 

Responsibilities 

  • Help implement and maintain and develop operational playbooks for various 3rd party security services. (Ex: CrowdStrike, Okta, Wiz, SumoLogic, Palo Alto Networks, CyberArk)
  • Detect and respond to company-wise security incidents when needed.
  • Partner with our DevOps and Infrastructure Teams to create a more defensible and resilient architecture.
  • Develop security incident response playbooks and processes.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation. (Ad-hoc requests, operational troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Help identify gaps in our current architecture and design (or acquire) solutions to close those gaps. 

Required Qualifications 

  • 5+ years experience in a security operational or analyst role preferably in a cloud native or hybrid cloud organization.
  • Experience with managing AWS IAM policies at scale to enforce least privilege is a plus.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Terraform or Ansible, with a focus on security best practices.
  • Experience in implementing and managing containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, with security considerations in mind.
  • Experience securing Active Directory and Windows Servers is a plus.
  • Experience with the BizMRK toolkit is a plus.
  • Previous experience pen-testing or experience with CTF / Red,Blue or Purples Teams is a plus.
  • High level software development skills; basic scripting, functional programming experience, familiarity with code repositories and deploy pipelines, etc.

Pay Transparency Statement

Convera is committed to pay transparency and equity in accordance with applicable U.S. state and local laws. For this position, the expected base salary range is [$130,000-$180,000] per year, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. We use a tiered geographic pay system to ensure fairness across regions. Candidates in high-cost areas may receive higher offers within the posted range.
