Senior CRM Manager - SumUp Pay

TLDR

This role offers a unique opportunity to be the first dedicated CRM owner for SumUp Pay, shaping customer communications throughout their journey.

Senior CRM Manager – SumUp Pay

About the team

At SumUp Pay, we are building a full-featured personal account for consumers across Europe, making it easy to spend globally, manage and grow their money, and get rewarded for everyday spending.
Following a migration from Salesforce Marketing Cloud to Iterable, the technical foundations are in place, but the lifecycle strategy, campaign infrastructure, and self-service capability are still being built. This is a rare opportunity to be the first dedicated CRM owner for SumUp Pay, shaping how we communicate with customers across every stage of their journey, from onboarding to card activation, feature discovery, and re-engagement.
This is a high-ownership, high-impact role, with the scope to define how SumUp Pay communicates with its customers for years to come.

What you'll do

  • Build, launch, and optimise CRM lifecycle journeys in Iterable across push notifications, email, in-app modals, and in-app banners, owning key customer moments including KYC, card activation, first transaction, feature discovery, and adoption
  • Monitor product usage data, identifying problems and suggesting practical solutions through CRM or product improvements
  • Define and manage user segments using Iterable's segmentation engine, run A/B tests, and continuously iterate to improve activation, engagement, and retention metrics across SumUp Pay
  • Act as the internal Iterable expert, owning data mappings, event taxonomy, and user profile schemas in close collaboration with backend engineers to ensure clean, well-structured event data
  • Establish self-service infrastructure through templates, naming conventions, documentation, and governance guidelines that allow Product Managers to launch campaigns without engineering support
  • Partner with the GTM team to align campaign messaging, timing, and audience targeting with broader Consumer Bank growth initiatives

You'll be great for this role if…

  • Hands-on experience building and optimising multi-channel lifecycle campaigns using a modern CRM platform such as Iterable, Braze, or Customer.io
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and how real-time triggers power effective customer journeys
  • Ability to work confidently across both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating platform logic and data into clear, actionable campaign strategies.
  • Comfort building from scratch, establishing processes, standards, and governance in an environment without an existing playbook
  • Proven experience enabling self-service campaign execution through documentation and templates, reducing operational dependency on engineering teams.
