By 2027, YouLend expects the total fundings in this region to more than double through new and existing partners. The role

As a Senior Credit Decisions Analyst (Underwriter), you will be responsible for credit assessments of new and existing customers applying for Merchant Cash Advances (MCAs). You will process complex, medium to high value financing applications from thousands of local businesses in Germany.

Your primary goal is to analyse customers’ financial data, assess their affordability and credit profile, and determine the terms of their financing offers, including amount, duration, and fees. It is important to make responsible, data-driven credit decisions that balance growth, risk, and good customer service, while complying with internal guidelines and external regulations. You will therefore gain strong insight into how we price and offer tailored financing solutions to both small and large businesses. You will work closely with other teams to ensure high-quality decisions, adherence to internal policies, and a professional and trustworthy customer experience.

Requirements

• In-depth Analysis: You assess repayment capacity and risk profiles by analysing financial data, financial statements, and revenue/payment data.
• Structuring: You decide on the terms of financing offers (amount, duration, price), balancing risk with growth.
• Risk & Compliance: Using state-of-the-art third-party systems, you manage KYC checks as well as onboarding and compliance risks.
• Process Optimization: You work closely with other teams to continuously improve our risk engine and internal workflows.
• Mentoring Opportunities: Support the build-out of the German Credit Decisions team (+25 expected in 12 months) and mentor junior team members as the team grows.
• Continuous Improvements: Help shape and execute our credit policies and tools in Germany, ensuring they are aligned with the market and our risk appetite.

Your Profile

• Analytical Focus: You enjoy working with data and possess high attention to detail.
• Experience: You have 3+ years of experience in underwriting or finance; however, we also welcome highly motivated talents with a strong analytical background.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Excel is a prerequisite.
• Hands-on Mentality: You are proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with daily deadlines.
• Languages: You communicate confidently and professionally in German and English.

Nice to Have

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as experience handling large datasets (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
• Experience in the field of SME financing in Germany, ideally with Cash Advances.
